- Shielding. Protection remains around her even though her vision is completely unobstructed.
- Green mark
- Armor and protest. The protective green element returns as part of the series’ visual language.
- Red mark

About the Artist
Essebes works across painting, fiber sculpture and mixed media, following an intuitive process in which composition, color and expression develop through the act of making. In the ongoing oil-on-canvas series The Whole World Is Watching, portraiture becomes a way to explore innocence, protection, witnessing and accountability.
